Some people like character, friendly people, and quirkiness. There are others who are very materialistic, fake, and follow trends and the corporate beast like sheep.

I agree with OP that uptown is beautiful drive at night. there are several new interesting developments popping up as well. I like DT more but uptown is nice.

Awesome... ??? Uptown ??? was my stomping ground back before the Galleria was finished. Xwife worked at Neiman's. Before that, I used to go dancing at the Groovy Catacombs on Post Oak. 610 went... nowhere.

Well, I don't know about awesome, but I do feel it's underrated.

I guess the way I look at it is it's walkable for Houston. I try not to compare Houston to Chicago (where I lived most my life) because it's an apples to oranges comparison.

That didnt even make sense. But w/e I was just trying to make a point, to let you know that you shouldn't be impressed by shiny chrome streetlights and a few fancy little aesthetic improvements. Look for deeper value in a certain neighborhood. Im no expert but I'm just saying things shouldn't be taken at face value

I was just having a little fun with. I actually like Montrose, but I like uptown too. I don't see why it has to be either or. that's just my opinion.

How will the uptown line, if it ever gets built, impact uptown?

It'd be better if it didn't have the massive parking lots. Assuming the line is still going down Post Oak.

Uptown is what it is. What it's supposed to be.

It's a cool place to do some shopping, casual socializing, people watching, and just take in some of the "hustle and bustle" of sub-urbane Houston.

There's plenty of room in my life for character. Sometimes it's fun to just be materialistic.
