I have noticed more out-of-state plates at the grocery stores and in the parking lot of my apartment.

Many of the Class A apartment complexes inside the loop are running at full occupancy rates and the rents have increased substantially in the past year.

I lived at Gables Cityscape over by Central Market for $830 for 750 sq ft, last year. The same apartment is now being advertised for $935-$1255. That's much higher than an inflation increase.

It's the in-state tuition benefit.

People really need to get over UT. The top 10% rule is killing and already average education.

So what if your kid makes A's and can't get into UT...do you know how many better universities out there will take them?

What the ...? That came out of left field. Did you not read what I responded to? Maybe you meant to respond in the Education forum. I didn't mention UT. Have you read a paper lately? Here is a clue to what I was talking about.

Now go back and read the conversation with that in mind, and you will get my comment in context with jbiggs' comment. M'kay?
