I don't think cold is the problem swimming in Galveston. We have had very few cool days so far. It has been mostly 80's this fall.

I doubt it's too cold in the Gulf as we have been running our A/C lately. It should cool off in Dec, but it's not out of the realm of possibility to have shorts weather on Christmas Day.

Nah

Galveston's temperature & warm waters are totally unlike California & the East Coast where its cool most of the time anyways.

Weather service indicates Galveston water temperature to be around 70 degrees +/-. So is my pool. I would not get into my pool today, but I would walk in the serf.
When we lived in Galveston, the best time for shelling was just after a cold front past when the tide was out and the wind was from the north. If you can find a place anymore, it might be fun.

Californians would die to have water temperatures above the 70 degree mark this time of year.

Yes. You won't be able to find the "boys" for a week.

Seems another post of mine was deleted again. I answered the question, and also spoke the truth about the polluted waters in Galveston.

It's not too cold. If the temp is 70+ you'll be fine.

It depends on what you're used to. For those from Maine or California, the water will seem downright comfortable. For those from south Florida, probably not. My teenagers were wakeboarding in West Bay this past weekend and didn't complain too much about the chilly water. It was too cold for me, though.
