oh maintenance is going on. while Metro is struggling to get half a Billion to build rail lines, 2 Billion was set aside to improve 45N and the Hardy Tollway.

They are finally widening 45N. I would not widen 45 without adding a commuter rail lane. Perfect opportunity. They could pick up the Northline at 610 and build a commuter line to The Woodlands with stops in Spring and Greenspoint and have a short Airport line connecting that Greenspoint stop to IAH.

benefit of subways.

Your point makes it clear that uptown is a perfect candidate for subway transport. It does not affect traffic above and it helps the pedestrian unfriendly uptown become friendlier
Might be a dumb question but what's a circulator? Is it a rail loop?
I was thinking about the entrance on W Alabama but that would be really pushing it with all the constraints involved.

Not sure about subways but yes, it would really help, especially running down under Westhiemer to Hwy 6 and West Oaks Mall.

I wish it was wider when I was staying up there. I would have to agree with the commuter rail, it is the perfect time to implement it, with all the stops you mention. I hate driving on I-45N.

more like a bus that picks you up at Guilford Court, takes you around the mall area, makes a loop back to Guilford.

The study says the widening would increase speeds on the highway by a whopping 1-3 mph. wow!!!!!

Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me but I don't see why it would be needed.
With more developments, that area will be more pleasant for walking, which is better than any bus.

Oh so during rush hour it'll be 21-23mph and any other time it'll be 101-103mph. Sounds about right.

Houston, now with 100% more freeways...

If the seaport in Freeport is expanded, (wouldn't hurt to shoot for North America's largest port) more refineries built around Freeport, and Houston grew as large as Los Angeles.

Terrible plan and 1950s thinking.. Just more ugly suburban sprawl.

Yeah I was only speaking strictly of the Uptown line.
