When I mention Houston to my friends, they say "you mean Houstoned"? I have relatives who live in Friendswood, whom I plan on visiting soon, and they don't know why people call it that. Is there something, or some place(s) that I should be aware of? What's up with that?

Houston is a huge drug culture city. This has been made even more prominent by hip hop acts. My band even starts our shows out by saying we are from Houstoned when we are out of town. You can go out to bars here and you burn one freely without worry from the establishment hassling you, you may get offered a bump, etc.

First I hear of that expression. And I travel all over the world. As "testmo" said it may be a class/neighborhood thing.

I find it stupid actually.

Never heard of that. I use to cringe hearing people say Youston though.

It's Hugh-ston not Youston. But that's accent wise or regional.

I've lived here over 20 years and never heard of it referred to as Houstoned. I've also never heard of Houston having a drug culture surpassing any of the other large cities around the country.

Now I understand. So, what areas of H-town should I avoid? I mean, the last thing I want to do is cruise through the wrong part of town, and get pulled over by the d!cks. That's not a good look, for me. I wouldn't know I drug corner if a saw one.
