Hi folks!
I am moving to Houston at the end of January. Probably looking at the Pearland/ Clear Lakes area.
How do I know which school my children can go to? I understand the school districts but does that mean I can choose any middle school within that school district?
I just want to make sure that to the best of my ability that the school they go to has an exemplary rating.
Any help would be appreciated as usual.

I don't know about Pearland. In Clear Lake, the school is zoned based on where you live.
Go the the CCISD website www.ccisd.net and click on 'Bus Route' picture at the middle of the page.
It will take you to a site where you can enter your address and it will tell you what school do you zoned to. Several of CCISD schools are exemplary so you'll have a really good chance to get into one.

The CCISD also has magnet school for science and a magnet school for gifted and talent. If you kid are accepted into these programs, they will not go to home campus but the magnet schools.

Have you looked into any specific communities in those two areas?
