Yea he really messed up when he tried to help some people...

I think we should be proud that we're only the 8th most crime ridden city in the US. Considering we have the 3rd/4th highest population.. Thats pretty good.

I see fancy cars and really fancy upscale places, and there's a really popular strip club in the middle of it all so there will be crime... but its not serious crimes, just break-ins and maybe a few robberies... its not like there are gun shots and drug dealers in the area.. To the OP.. dont fixate on crime, it could happen to anyone and Galleria/Uptown truly is one of the safer areas in town...

The Galleria"area" could mean a wide range of places...if you are looking at apartments around Richmond near 59 out toward Fondren then you will see much more crime. You should look North of Richmond... Near Sage,Augusta or Woodway.

It's turned around from then.

I started a thread about Uptown recently as I have a good friend who rented a place in Milan Estates and almost immediately started dating a lady who lives alone in Creole of Yorktown apartments.

She got in right before they raised the rent 140 dollars (2 BR 2 Bath) and apparently all the real estate just east of Yorktown has skyrocketed in recent years.

Where else can I live nearby that isn't as dangerous as the Galleria area?
Houston is a dangerous city in general. Can you live in a suburb 25 miles out? I'm only half-kidding.

Dangerous? Compared to what?

Besides, I remember reading about some bad things happening in the burbs like Moms being attacked in parking lots in Pearland and some murders in Clear Lake. Don't fool yourself into thinking the inner city is so dangerous and the burbs are so safe.
