I've heard this area isn't the best but I was just wanting to get your all's opinions. I've never been to Houston before but may be going to this area to work for a few days. The area I'm referring to specifically is around where Tidwell Rd intersects with Aldine Westfield Rd. Thanks.

There are a number of hotels along Beltway 8 between JFK and Greenspoint mall @I-45 in addition to a couple on JFK. any of these would be convenient to your job. Rush hour traffic not too terrible anywhere out there except for the freeways which you will not need to negotiate. Unless you want to do a reverse commute up 45 or US-59, staying central and visiting the cultural attractions. Speaking of Jensen Dr. they have 4~5 of the best pawnshops in the city right there around Tidwell. I've gotten great deals on large ticket items on that road. And speaking of attractions the MFAH (Museum of Fine Arts) largest in the South is open until 9:00 on Thursdays.
