I noticed that elementary schools on greatschools.org are rated so bad in Sugarland!! Why?? This is a middle-upper class area and I am so surprised to see ratings like 4,5 and 6 out of 10 for state testing. I'm shocked. Can someone shed some light? thanks

Most of Sugar Land certainly does not have bad schools, in fact quite the opposite. Where in "Sugar Land" are you looking? If the schools you're looking at are zoned from neighborhoods north of West Bellfort (which isn't technically Sugar Land anyway, only Sugar Land postal addresses and actually closer to Alief) that's probably why. Or maybe if you're looking at the part of Sugar Land almost to Rosenberg off 59, like River Park.

Edit: Your thread title is misleading in my opinion.

I went to the Greatschools website you mentioned, plugged in elementary schools within a 10 mile radius of zip 77479 (which is basically central Sugar Land)
GreatSchools.org Search: 10 mile radius of 77479

Almost all 8, 9, and 10 ratings and no 4, 5, 6 until you get out to Stafford, central Missouri City, and Townewest (which again, isn't actually Sugar Land, just Sugar Land postal addresses.) Anyone looking in Sugar Land concerned with schools and property values and can afford it needs to stay south of West Bellfort Ave, as I've mentioned again and again on here. Don't be suckered in by the cheaper home prices/rents in Townewest just because it has a Sugar Land postal address, and then expect it to be great.
