Ratings move ? Possibly. When I was in my early 20's around 2000,I listened ALL the time. I last listened on a regular basis around 2007....2008. Just don't have the time with work.

Sidenote: Does that guy have like 6 months vacation or what ?

I'm a big football guy,so I'm NFL Network or ESPN.

I DO like Colin Cowherd. I know people don't like him,but he's pretty logical and reasonable to me.

JT the Brick absolutely STINKS. I always say there's a reason he's on at 2,3,4am in the morning.

It's hard listening to a guy from New York who's a Yankees homer to the bone and the biggest Raiders fan in the world.
Jt does suck.

The best thing about his show was the caller showdown bit... What was it called? The smack-off? I dunno, something like that. In high school, that was one if the few things my dad (a 40-something Houston oil guy) and I could agree to do together. Listening to those callers was always entertaining! :-)

Wow.That is pretty weak.

I know this much about Rome.If you're an athlete having a hard time he'll ride you to death.

He called Tigers dad a gravy trainer and Tiger has never given him an interview or second thought since then. Though for a while I think Rome was trying.

Not sure where all the beef started, but Charles Barkley HATED his guts about 6-7 years ago,and had some very 'choice' words about him. Some where along the line Rome did some kissing up because Chuck will come on and they were best buds last time I listened.

He used to call Eric Gagne a 'piece of crap.' Guy goes to Boston- pitches lights out with saves and he was ALL OVER Gagne.

Jim Rome is terrible and so are all the local sports radio hosts in Houston except Charlie Pallilo and Lance Zierlin. Too many of them discuss non sports issues on their shows. It just annoys me.

I like Charlie. He's a sharp guy who knows sports, IMHO. I appreciate the lack of juvenile antics and at least he sounds like an adult. Rome was too much of a "freak show" for my taste. I know Charlie wasn't born in Texas and isn't a "homer" but he was smart enough to know a good thing when he got here.

Why in the h.... does ESPN keep that stupid prick?
How about a guy that will talk about sports instead of going around insulting people.

It's all about the money. His show on ESPN must still get decent ratings. The very few times I've watched him on ESPN, it's not as much "Rome World (Rome-speak, clones, etc.)," as is his radio show. I just tired of his shtick on the radio. The one guy I really can't take on ESPN is Mark May. Every time he opens his mouth, the arrogance pours out.

For whatever reason in the US people seem to want everything in one show, just like every Hollywood movie
"Jim Rome, you get excitement, drama, happiness, sadness, comedy, lessons about life, etc, etc, etc"

I don't need all that c...
When I listen to a "sport expert" I want to listen to a "sport expert" that is going to do a sport analysis.
I don't need any kind of BS drama attached to my sport analysis.

FYI, I hate Jim Rome

Yes, same here. Put some horns on Rome's head and he'd look like Satan doing "Hell is Burning!"

I just choose not to watch or listen to Mr. Rome. There are still enough people around the country who do or he wouldn't be on T.V. or the radio. However, it looks like there were not enough for 610. To each his own.
