I am looking for a place to live for myself and my dog. I am very liberal, but tolerant of all ways of thought. I attend grad school at the University of St. Thomas and work as a professional legal assistant.

Does anyone know where to find a place that is tolerant of people and dogs? I am from Austin and trying to find somewhere with like-minded people in the Houston area.

Where in Austin are you from? The central areas are more liberal, but the outlying areas are not. You'll find a similar pattern in Houston.

Montrose and the Heights are two areas you'll probably want to look at.

Montrose and the Heights for sure. You could also try Rice Military and Midtown.

Just stay away from those cat-loving conservatives. Those people are crazy.

For lease? Sale?

What price range?

What size is your dog? Not every place will take pets over 20lbs.

Are you talking about St. Thomas in Houston? Why not stay in the area(Montrose) that's probably the most liberal area in Houston.

Galleria area, Montrose, West U, Upper Kirby, The Heights...most places "inside the loop".
All in all, Houston as a whole is a live and let live kinda city.
