I'm thinking of moving to either Sugar Land or Pearland. I'm coming from New Jersey and needs more information? Which one is better?

I am a nurse who will be looking for a hospital job. I have 2 kids so school system is important. Help...

Sugar Land is a bit more established. Pearland is a bit closer to med center. That's my 2 cents.

It's about the same for living and schools - can't go wrong with either so it becomes personal preference.

Pearland will put you in a better location, but Sugar Land overall is a better place to live. Both are decent areas though.

Schools in both are good, though they do vary some, but you will be closer to the med center if you live closer to 288 in Pearland. Commutes from Pearland are easier and we have lots of docs and nurses living in the area.

I love the area of Pearland we are in because there are so many families with kids and it feels like stepping back in time to the 50s in terms of the friendliness and the atmosphere of our neighborhood. Kids play outside together and parents are out watching if they have younger kids.

The park district in Pearland has plenty of activities for the kids too.

Neither. Move to the city.
Suburban kids have higher suicide rates and higher rates of gunning down class mates.

We enjoy living in Sugar Land and we have friends in Pearland. Our friends in Pearland say it is super easy to make friends there because there are so many transplants from all over the country. Sugar Land is fairly friendly, too, although you have more families who have established roots here.

With schools, you have to research specific schools because in both Pearland ISD and Fort Bend ISD, you have good schools and mediocre or poor schools. GreatSchools.org is a good resource to read parent reviews.

Basically - pick the one that suits your needs the best, because they are both equally good - people will strongly suggest whichever one they are currently living in because they live there because they like it there.
