meh...but I guess displaced East Coasters will be happy. After Chicago style, everything else is secondary.

I think Italians look down on the types of pizz we consume here(weather they be new york or chicago). In order to make real pizza you have to go to italy and get trained and follow strict guide lines.

Until Houston gets water like in the aquifers in Manhattan, you can forget good pizza in Houston.

Exactly. One of my favorite things about Chicago is their pizza pies. I usually engorge myself with some Lou Malnati's pizza every time I visit...man, I can just taste it now.

Funny thing is that I've been thinking about this lately. Why don't we have a Lou Malnatis or Giordano's style pizza in Houston? I mean, how difficult can it be to make a Chicago style pie????

I'm not a fan of thick, saucy,pizzas that are 60% dough and weight as much as a concrete block.
I'm glad to have the Italian option around. A few places have come close, but again too much dough.
