As an insider, I will say this: Nothing lasts forever, but with all the work available, if you're with the right company this will last at least for the next 4-5 years. Remember also that a very large portion of this industry (i.e. baby boomers) will begin retiring in 4-5 years.

You are also making the assumption the democrats will win in 2008. Do not count on it. The 2,974 people who died on 911 vote republican in every election. Plus Republicans have the voting machines. They'll pull it off.
