I'm in Austin now and am soon moving to Houston/Friendswood. I've worked with my Austin mortgage broker twice in 10 years and love her. Does it make sense to stick with her for our Houston home purchase or is there an advantage to working with someone local (in houston)?

Thanks!

Sure mortgage broker can be in the different city. No advantage to working with someone local (in houston).

Yeah I don't think it matters. When I was house searching, a co-worker recommended a broker in Dallas that he used because he got a better deal from them. I guess it's harder to drive up and complain if you have a problem and they don't answer your calls, but if you already have a good relationship with a broker then this is a non issue.

Yea, no worries. Use who you think can provide the best rates. Just work with someone from TX. I've had some bad experiences when clients use lenders from other states. Just because of the paperwork involved.

It's unanimous! A city-data first? Thanks so much for your help! I am relieved to hear that I don't have to test out a new broker. Thanks!
