I would be flying in and out of Hobby around the end of March and need to decide whether to drive myself and park or hit up friends and family for rides... I seem to recall that there was virtually no parking for awhile because of some construction or other... did that apply to the exterior lots as well where one gets a shuttle?

All input appreciated... going in and out of airports these days is about my least favorite thing!

Only time I've had a problem is during major holiday's like Thanksgiving.
All other times it's easy-peasy.

DH parks at a park and ride frequently. He's never had trouble in the last couple of years.

You can buy a space online in advance at one of the shuttle lots and that way you are guaranteed a space.

I fly weekly out of one of the 2 airports. If you are in infrequent flyer I suggest either having someone drop you off and pick you up, use a car service, or leaving yourself extra time and use one of the off airport lots with a shuttle. There are many to choose from. Hobby's garage and on airport lot can be very full, and the construction in and around the garage and lots may not really be over completely for a long while. They plan to build a new garage on the site of the lot next to the current garage but during construction it may be a nightmare.

You can forget Parking Cents there at Hobby. That garage on the other side of Airport Blvd usually has plenty of space and a shuttle is a short hop on over to the airport. Just give yourself an extra 15-20 minutes or so.

I know this is late, but I'll put it out for future searches. I think there are options at Hobby. I had a bad experience there at the Eco Park2 this year. My flight landed so that I was ready to get to the shuttle around 10:15 pm. I walked out to find the shuttle people--they said they were done for the night. I did NOT enjoy walking so late at night by myself from the airport doors through these semi-deserted back areas of the airport. It never occurred to me that the shuttle might not run. I've been flying out of IAH a LOT and usually use the private parking areas (never had a problem!!!), so I will definitely make sure not to park at Hobby's Eco lots. HOBBY ADMIN, YOU SUCK!
