I know Houston's rain is more spread out through the year with most of the rain falling during the summer. The PNW it's the opposite and is almost completely dry in the summer.

For those wondering what February is like in Houston I found this which I don't believe will settle many of your arguments -

-----February 2012 (so far) -- 3.24 inches

2003 -- 4.08
2004 -- 5.58 (January had 6.01)
2005 -- 6.01
2006 -- 1.46
2007 -- 1.15 (January had 5.72)
2008 -- 4.00 (January had 4.62)
2009 -- 1.52
2010 -- 3.55

The past 30 year average for Feb. is 3.20 inches. So if it didn't rain again this month we would have an average Feb., and that's including all of the rain we have already had.
The difference is we don't normally have as many rainy days. In my years of living here; I've never experienced a winter like this in Houston. I hate this type of weather, but I do realize how much it's needed.

What's your ideal winter like?

60s to 70s. However, if it's cold; I'd like snow to come along with that. I really hate cold and rainy. It's just annoying.

You say you have only been here three years, so you don't have enough experience with Houston weather. I remember a winter like this back in 2007. It was rainy and cloudy It seems almost everyday for a month I thought I was living in Seattle.

I use to visit a lot prior to moving here, but I've lived here for only a short time. The fact that you had to think back to 2007 proves my point.

Folks~~ after the long and scary drought, none of us should ever complain about the rain. Period.

For people saying this is typical Houston weather; in my 3+ [I know its not a long time] years of living here; I'd have to disagree with that. This something along the lines of the PNW.

Yep. It's not typical. It's April weather and a hurricane is blowing our way type. It was so dark today I was like is tropical storm/hurricane someone breathing down our necks? Then I remember what month it is.

This is Houston. Last summer was really bad so I really don't expect it to be better. Maybe slightly but still hot as

PNW?

Gross. 50s, partly sunny, and breezy >>>>>>>>.

But I agree that when it gets real cold, I want it to be snowing, to make it worth it.
