Can you direct me to the well established neighborhoods in Cypress - as in lots of trees and custom homes? I have seen a few of the other posts, but would like more specifics.

I do NOT want the cookie cutter neighborhood where every other house looks the same. Also, would love detached garages and homes with a little character - I'm thinking northeast here. Is this possible? I know the area south of 290 fairly well, but know nothing about neighborhoods north of 290. Would love to hear from someone familiar with Cypress. Thank you!

If you go a little more West into the 249 area you may like the Champions and Champions Forest area. A lot of what you are looking for is there.

As to the OP, in addition to some of the neighborhoods already mentioned... Coles Crossing has a small estate section that has custom/semi-custom homes.

We liked Kulge Lake, the only problem was that it was 250,000 over our budget...LOL. There are a couple of houses for sales for 650,000 in Kluge Lake on HAR.com...see if you like them.

You won't find many old growth trees west of US 290 because that area used to rice fields. The further you go east of US 290 toward I-45 you'll find the trees you want. Some of the homes are older but were built with higher quality than today. The one thing many lack are the current energy star standards(low-e windows, improved insulation, & higher rated HVAC system). All of that can be remedied with updating.
