Looking for a decent priced cable company in houston? I live on westhimer, the palms apts. I just want a cable company that have the main channels and like the little extra channels like oxygen, hbo, mtv2 and such. I dont want satellite since i live on the third floor and there isnt really a stable area to set up the dish. I never signed up for a cable company, back at the place i was living at my brother got comcast cable but it was no contract and i just paid half of it. So please help out a first timer. Thanks.

You need to check with Management. You may be locked into phonoscope. Most older apartment complexes have legacy contracts so you may not have the right to choose. If it is available then I would get Uverse. Comcast Basic is also good.

Oh absolutely! First and foremost go with UVerse. But if it isn't available in your complex (Which it probably isn't) then you might as well just go with Comcast.

Checking with your leasing/management office. They will know the providers to your property and who is available. Some apartments will have one provider some will have three.

Apartments are very different than a subdivision or home. While some may have an exclusive contract with a provider other may have a certain provider because it is up to the provider to be willing to build out facilities into that complex. I have seen some complexes in older low demographic areas where there are NO providers because providers will not spend the money build facilities into the property. Others complexes will do bulk in order to get a heavily discounted rate per apartment.
