Hello
I will be moving with my family from germany to houston in or around May 2008. I have been reading alot that the energy sector and more in houston are in need for many skilled workers. Maybe somebody can give me a tip wich placement agencies are the best or Companies. I would like to get active now looking for a job, or at least see what my chances are. I have 20 years experience in the manufacturing (machinist, journeyman)field my training and schooling I recieved from Mercedes Benz germany. I do not require any sponsoring, since I wil be recieving my greencard in Feb 2008. Thanks alot

greetings from germany

Johann

You could probably go to work for any of the mercedes dealersrships. Try looking online at our local newspaper The Houston Chronicle at Houston news, entertainment, search and shopping | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle and looking at the job postings in the classifieds. Good luck on your move.

Try this web site:

Germany-USA Career Center - Jobs, Resumes & Career Services

I also found an International profile of Houston and it said that there are about 40 German companies in Houston and about 40 companies with offices in Germany. I would see if any of these companies needs a German-speaking employee - that would give you an edge.
