I'm just thankful he had a safe trip out here, unfortunately I'm not joking. The lack of respect towards him is down right scary nowadays.

The traffic was definitely because of him (in addition to the rain and usual friday traffic). NOt b/c he's obama but bc he's he president, std protocol for security to block off all traffic. Just be thankful he didnt land at hobby or Bush, otherwise all flights would have been cancelled an hour before and and hour after landing. Been there, it really sucks because people didn't even get advance notice, just a surprise when you got to the airport.

didn't get advance notice? him coming to houston was well announced before he ever got to Texas.

people should really be more knowledgeable, in general

i am rather glad the president of the united states decided to visit Texas and Houston traffic or not. better all future presidents just ignore our state altogether?

Obama gets blamed for everything else, may as well blame him for traffic as well.

That lack of respect for the President has been there for the past few that have been in office I have noticed -- seems like it started getting worse around the end of the Clinton era.

Dude, my comment about no advance notice pertained to him at another airport on another occasion. Flights were grounded for several hours b/c they didn't want to let people know his exact time of arrival/departure (for security reason obviously). Actually, they didn't say why flights were grounded until after the fact once security gave clearance. The worst part of it was people we grounded 'until further notice', and everyone was told to stick around near their terminal, which then dragged on for about 3hrs.

You know, what's as sad as those people who blame him for everything are those who think he can do no wrong. People should get their head out of the sand and think critically before this nation sinks. Every news station reported that traffic was halted for the president, and further delayed because he was late on arrival (not his fault). When you got barricades to freeze traffic along a major artery, it's going to cause a jam. Like i said, it would have been the same had he been a republican or democrat president, but the jam was b/c it was a president visiting. I can't believe we're debating this.

there are some people saying oh gosh sucks damnit why'd some president have to come and mess up my drive home!

...

it is not a republican or democrat issue. it is a stupid versus non-stupid person issue. it's the president of the united states of america. sad when he gets more pomp and circumstance from people when he visits Japan than Texas

here it means just a crummy commute to one's home --- but not to everyone
