You make it sound as if President Obama created the EPA,
let me remind you that it was Richard Nixon that created the EPA and many other regulatory agencies in the early 1970s.

Richard Nixon: Statement About the Environmental Legislative Program - Sep. 1972

In 1970---2 1/2 years ago---I sent a sweeping, 37-point environmental message to the Congress, proposing a wide range of pioneering new legislation to control air and water pollution and to provide more parks and open spaces within reach of urban areas. In 1971 I sent a second major environmental message, again proposing comprehensive water pollution control legislation, which would allow the Nation to achieve clean water without causing inflationary pressures. I also recommended new initiatives to control ocean dumping, pesticides, toxic substances, noise, strip mining, and power plant siting. In a third major environmental message in 1972 I urged a number of additional measures, including a tax on harmful emissions of sulfur oxides, controls over underground disposal

Sure it does. And when Tricky Dick was around there was no such thing as horizontal fracking. The current restrictions were Obama's reaction to the green movement along with financing bankrupt green energy companies.

OP. I love it when prices of gas go up like this because everyone overreacts and stops buying larger vehicles. This is just like last time, when I bought my wife a large SUV. A week ago, I was able to trade in my car and get another large SUV. If prices keep going up, I hope to get a steal on Ford F350 4x4 to replace my old one that I use to pull my boat. Everyone’s situation is different.

I got a better job closer to home- does that count?

It wasn't really because of gas prices, though. I have to admit. But hey, less of a commute!
