My wife and I will relocate to Houston in a couple of months. I will being working at TMC. After asking some friends who lives or lived in Houston for opinions about apartments near TMC, it all comes down to the following areas, 77027, 77005, 77098, 77056(maybe). Can anyone recommend some apartments for me, or at least neighborhoods?

Either 2-1 or 2-2 is fine for us. We have a 2-year-old daughter and a second baby is on the way. So we are looking to live in a safe convenient areas. Family friendly. Also, since I will be travelling between Austin and Houston once or twice every month, closer to the interstates the better. Our budget is $1300.

Thanks in advance.

Look hard at 77056. You could find a pretty nice place for 1300. A good friend of mine is dating a lady who lives in an apartment complex called "Creole on Yorktown". I want to say she pays slightly under 1000 for a 2 br 2 bath. I was in shock when I saw this place, not because it's so amazing but because it's decent, under 1000 and in a great location.

So, with 1300....

Actually, I found this apartment earlier and called them up. The price is pretty good for a 2-2. The thing that concerns me is that it is the furthest to TMC among the zipcodes I am interested in. I was looking at the google traffic and it seems that I610 north of 59 is the busiest road during rush hours. So maybe inner-loop would be a better option for me? Someone on this board mentioned upper kirby. Is it a nice neighborhood?

Here are a few apts that are under consideration. Any advice?

Creole on Yorktown
2400 Yorktown St, Houston, TX 77056

Greenway Gardens
3131 Timmons Ln Houston, TX 77027

Townplazza
4655 Wild Indigo St, Houston, TX 77027

Greenbriar Chateau Apartments
4100 Greenbriar St # 138, Houston, TX 77098

Boulevard Oaks Apartments
2026 North Boulevard Apt 11, Houston, TX 77098

North Boulevard Apartments
2701 North Boulevard, Houston, TX 77098

Oaks Of Beverly Hills
5301 Beverlyhill St, Houston, TX 77056

Verde Chateaux Dijon
5331 Beverlyhill St # 228, Houston, TX 77056

I think 77027 and 77098 are better location wise, but I heard the noise could be a problem since there are lots of college kids live in this area. Is that true?

Upper Kirby would be ideal, but you will have to up your monthly rent for that area.
