You fly commercial? Eww. What a loser. If I can't charter a private jet I'd just as soon hang out on my yacht with a hundred of my closest friends.

You use a private jet or your yacht, tsk, tsk. I use my time machine. Only costs $5 million per year for me to run.

I have my assistant call Net Jets. I have no idea how much we spend. I don't consider myself wealthy.

Default The Trend

Has anyone noted the trend where successful Houston companies get bought out by these larger companies that provide poorer yet more costly services? Bank United was a good bank, with few fees, but then it was bought by WAMU, followed by even worse Chase. Same with Compaq and floundering HP. Now Continental taken by United.

I noticed the change immediately even as the merger began. I'd be on a two-legged flight, one still on a Continental plane with Continental staff, followed by a leg with the United experience. I knew then this would not be good. And, it hasn't been.

Why aren't you flying private? It would cost about the same if not cheaper. When there is a group of us (6+) going somewhere in the states we try to get a private plane or get my dad or uncle (who both own planes) to fly us. It really does cost about the same when you split the cost between large groups of people.

and I am not a 1%er...

Heck, go to aviation school and buy your own plane (you can get 6 seater for under 100k, or a used one for about 50k)...it would be cheaper than spending $20k every time you want to fly.

I love flying commercial.

Don't be rude to people just because they have more money than you.

LMAO! Seriously, stop trolling.

Shouldn't you be in front of some boardroom to afford your $9mil house in River Oaks or Memorial and not on a message board with us lowly poor folk?
