This is our first year in Houston. Until about November it seemed like there were never any clouds, just intense sunshine every day. Since November it seems like we have barely seen the sun. It's been warm, which is nice, but so cloudy and dreary it's almost unbearable. Does the sun really only come out here when it's too hot to be outside and enjoy it? Is there never any nice weather? Seems like we're on two ends of the spectrum...110* and sunny or 65*/70* and cloudy. Does that pretty much sum up Houston weather?

That's odd, I thought it's been a great winter. Almost every weekend we've had the kids out biking or something. February was a bit more dreary some days but really, is your glass half empty?! Maybe there's another town in the U.K. called Houston...

I would think that maybe it's just my perspective except that my four year old this morning commented on the sun not coming out for a long time. I actually checked the statistics for Houston and there is considerably less sunshine in the winter here than anywhere I've ever lived. I guess if you're a northerner it may seem sunny, but I spent 20 years in S. Florida and a year here and there in Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina which are all pretty sunny areas.

Be careful for what you wish for. I agree the sun is coming and when it comes, it will be here with a vengeance.

You will be thinking back fondly on these cloudy days soon enough.

I agree. This was a lousy winter because we didn't have one. Summer is knocking at the door and I'm yelling go away!

I would think after this past summer, people would be happy with less sun and more rain.
