Can you reuse an "EZ-Tag" when you buy another car?

Yes just very carefully remove it and add the vehicle to your account online. It won't stick as well the 2nd time but will stay up there. I've done it multiple times.

Would using a hair dryer to soften the adhesive damage the EZ tag? If it doesn't, I suggest doing it this way.

Or you can just pay the $15 or whatever and get a new one. All of that sounds like a lot of trouble just to avoid a one-time charge of $15.

I didn't think you were supposed to do that, so I looked it up. I'm about to have a different issue with EZTag so I have been reading up on it lately.

It has to match the license plate you have on file. They will send you a bill if you use it on another vehicle

I've never received a bill, and my current tag is on its third car.

I did it on my recent truck. It worked fine for about 8 months, then all of a sudden I got a letter in the mail saying I had to pay the fees. Just get a new one, no big deal.

You have to update your information on file, but you can move the tag to a new car. That said, it was hard to remove the tag, and our tag ended up shredding in the process. So, it is just easier to buy a new tag.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no....you have to test it first and the best way to test it is the following way: Go through a gate that gives you the option to pay with coins or the tag. If it goes up, good to go. I Probably don't need to explain further.
