The Houston branch of the company that I work for has 8 people and 5-6 of us are interested in a company outing to go charter fishing nearby (Galveston I guess..).

Any suggestions on a specific charter fishing company that can accommodate this small group for a day trip?

I would try Galveston.com and follow the link to Charter Fishing. My family has used a few and has never been disappointed. I just dont know the names...my husband booked them and it has been a few years.

Make sure everyone signs a release. Been there, done that, shouldn't have without a release.

I called many places on galveston.com regarding charter fishing but all seem to only be able to accommodate 6 people max.
It looks like there will be 8 people going from the office, not the 5-6 that I had originally estimated.

Does anyone know a charter fishing company that can accommodate up to 8 people on a boat for an off-shore fishing trip?

Bluefin charters can accommodate you. They leave out of Freeport though. Give them a call and tell them what you are looking for. If they dont offer what you are looking for, I bet they can point you in the direction of someone who can.

Bluefin must have gone out of business or something cause I called them 10 times yesterday, left voicemail, emailed them. Called them again this morning and nothing.

They never answer the phone, they do not reply emails, and of course no return phone call.

Anyone know a different charter fishing company that can accommodate up to 8 people?

We just went out yesterday with Mickey Eastman (he has a show on 610AM), and he was telling us about how few charter boats for offshore fishing there are left. I can't really remember the specifics, but it has to do with government regulations, and a lot of them went under because of it (again - this is fuzzy).

By the way, I highly recommend Mickey as a guide. We had a fantastic time, but his boat won't hold that many people. We went out near the Fred Hartman bridge, and limited out on trout in about three hours. We also caught five very nice reds. We were about 25 miles or so out.

He's a great guide and funny as you-know-what. We'll definitely be going out with him again.

There is a charter fishing excursion groupon today. Not sure how many they can take out. Looks like it goes out of Baytown.
