Here is a link to the West Lake Crossing Development at the Beltway and Westlake Crossing. There is a proposed 1 million S.F. Corporate Campus in the Plans. Hopefully they also eventually construct a Theater in this area (Fall Creek, Summerwood, Canyon Gate)

Additionally, I believe a Gold's Gym is going up in Park Lakes Landing

Looking at the plans that Mr. Eko posted, the area that is marked for the proposed Corporate Campus is actually a portion of the Generation Park plans now.

oh wow! i figured..I been hearing that a lot lately. What were your problems? My aunt says the foreclosures are becoming a problem. Walden was my old neighborhood, sportmans village. I remember we lived there when it was mostly woods. Then we moved on to summerwood.

I thought that it would be a nice community especially with it being one of the few golf course communities in the area

I wouldn't think the HOA (i remember they made my mother mad one day) or current residents wouldn't let it go downhill like that though..

when I went to Atascocita that was one of the comments we made or used.. summerhood.and hood park (park lakes) and the apartments located near fall creek was considered hoods too lol<-- park lakes is the real hood though (just joking). However Everybody knows that summerwood is not a hood. It still fairly new so it would be all types of people moving into the place. Just because someone looks like they do not live there or do not belong in a place, doesn't mean that they are not good people or they really belong ---> #TrayvonMartin all over again .

The HOA was the tipping point for me at Walden. Once I had children, I hated that there were no sidewalks, that everyone parked on the street, and everyone lived off the main roads - vs ES or Summerwood where you have a main thoroughfare with neighborhood streets that come off of that. That way people don't drive crazy throught the neighborhood (typically).

It pissed me off that I was paying $1,100/yr in HOA fees and all we had was the clubhouse (which we never went to, and when we did we had to pay for overpriced food), a small dinky gym, and a boring pool. There was one tiny playground. If we wanted to play tennis, that was more a month on top of the HOA fees. And if we wanted to play golf, that was another $3,000 on top of that. No soccer fields, etc.

Now I pay a lot less than that in HOA fees, get well maintained common areas, lots of sidewalks, too many parks/playgrounds to count, 2 soccer fields, a sand volley ball court, tennis courts, 2 huge awesome pools with a splashpad in the making, and a decent sized gym/clubhouse! With an HOA who seems to care about the neighbhorhood and it's residents.

When I found out that the Walden HOA spent $80,000 to resurface the pool (which wasn't in bad shape to begin with) and it looked exactly the same afterward - that was it for me. They could have added another playground by the pool, added on to the playground equipment that was already there, etc.

The foreclosures killed us when we moved. We had to bring $21,000 to closing. It was paaaiiiinnnnffffffullllll.

What I don't get is why they have those ugly mailboxes in summer wood, HOA should enforce those big metal community mailboxes at the end of the street.

@Brownplayboy310 The older portions of Summerwood actually have those metal community mailboxes. I don't know why you think the brick mailboxes or the black cast iron mailboxes in front of homes are ugly. They add character to the neighborhood and I think most people prefer being able to collect their mail from in front of their homes that's why they switched from the community metal mailboxes. Also the personal mailboxes are built by the home builders and have to look a certain way according the to the HOA rules.

I prefer the community mailboxes - less tampering. Anyone can open up those in front of your house.

Really? You buy a house in Texas and you see one fat white guy, call him a hillbilly and are upset? The nerve of some people.
