We'll be moving to Houston in about 6 weeks. We currently live in Austin, and during the summer we spend a lot of time swimming in pools, creeks, rivers, and lakes.

I haven't been able to locate any pools outside of private neighborhood pools and the YMCA.

Where is your favorite place to cool off during the summer heat?

Thanks

You could always go to lake Conroe or Livingston. DO NOT swim in the bayous or detention ponds.

The City of Houston has free public pools. We enjoyed the Memorial Park swimming pool.

Quillian Center, The beach, Schlitterbaun and your neighborhood will most likely have a pool

Discovery Green has a nice splash water fountain that my kids love.

Sometimes I swim in Herman Park although it is forbidden. Last time I made the news.
Man found skinny dipping in Hermann Park - Local News - Houston, TX - msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46833814/ns/local_news-houston_tx/t/man-found-skinny-dipping-hermann-park/#.T3Z6pNVpGvM - broken link)
