Just more proof that crime happens everywhere in the greater Houston area, even in the 'upscale' areas.

It's simply ignorant for some people to come to this forum and diss a specific city for it's crime.

The thieves go where the cash/jewelry/electronics are. Riverstone is a great place to be a thief, as are most of the master planned communities in Missouri City and Sugar Land.

or you could have gotten a dog, a motion sensor light for the driveway, a baseball bat, or kept some lights on

I'm not sure about the other counties like Harris, but Fort Bend has a pathetic burglary solve rate. Troy Nehls is running for Sheriff partially on that fact alone, vowing to improve it.

A different topic, but on the bright side for Fort Bend at least:

It's probably drunk people trying to go in the wrong house because they can't tell witch house is theirs. Robert Downey Jr. style.

After watching the news video on that link, I realize all the houses in the neighborhood look exactly the same.

The master planned county of Fort Bend is close to some serious economically depressed areas like the 288 corridor and Fresno. It's the same with Greatwood, they built a beautiful neighborhood AROUND Tara which is one of the most crime ridden areas of Richmond. Crime can certainly happen anywhere, but thinking that spending 350k in Fort Bend will insulate you from crime is very faulty logic when an economic and opportunity deprived community is always 'round the bend...
