Hi...I have a couple nagging questions concerning my DL once I move to Houston. I realize I will be required to get a Texas DL, what I would like to know is.....

How long can I drive on my current Swedish DL before I get my Texas one?

Will I be required to do the road/written tests?

Will I have to actually surrender my Swedish DL?

Thanks!

I am not sure if you will have to take the driving test or surrender your Swedish license, but I found this from an Austin site regarding your second question: "If you have a valid Out-of-Country Drivers License and are 18 to 75 years old, you may drive a private, non-commercial motor vehicle in the State of Texas for up to one year from date of entry into the United States provided your home country has reciprocity with the United States." (Note: Sweden does have a reciprocal agreement with the U.S.)
