Bullet trains have a speed between 150 mph and 187 mph. We could get to Dallas in a little over an hour. No TSA, no getting to the station an hour or more between departure. Wonderful.

To be honest, if i could get to Austin in an hour, I would go there every weekend. At least, until I got tired of it. 1.5 hours to Dallas would be cool, too. At least if the train left and arrived from a convenient location to be w/o a car, which would be key.

Only 3.5 hours? That's long enough!

I would visit Dallas more often. I think folks from up there would come down here, too.

More $ for both cities.

Not just that,
it would make Texas more appealing to tourists other states and countries.

Houston to Dallas is the only route that makes sense in Texas. Houston to Austin? Get real. Austin isn't that important in the grand scheme of things when considering the number of people that are likely to use this.

Only? 3.5 hours is long enough. The drive from Houston to Dallas has to be the most boring drive in the state (besides west Texas). A bullet train will enable residents in both cities to commute to the other.

Some Houstonians don't embrace change and progress very well.
