Been there, done that. Just forget it. It will keep you in knots for years. You won't get what you think you deserve. The lawyers will get way more than anybody intended and the mediators will just make it worse. Never expect justice in a Texas Court of Law. Everybody involved said we would win at trial. Our lawyers, their lawyers, the mediators and the judge thought we would come out on top with a jury. But since DH's deep pocketed partner owned an insurance company, they would appeal til hell froze over and prevail, since insurance companies owned the Texas courts. Then they would go after us for all the court and legal expenses, and get it.

I can tell you the lawyers not to use. Big names at big firms. They are no different from grifters. They will tell you your case is a slam dunk no brainer, but you paying is cheaper than the 3rd. they'd get. When you are into them for about $150000, 3 days before mediation or court, they start crawfishing.

Forget about it while you are still sane. You don't want to be a bitter senior citizens like me.
