Hi I'm about to move to Houston and going to be working off I-45 near Sam Houston Tollway. I would like any suggestion where to live that is low in crime, friendly neighborhood, and no more than 40 minutes drive to work.

I heard League City and Clear Lake is great but might be a bit too far from work due to traffic. House price range for me is going to be between 200-250k.

Please any suggestion is appreciated

If you are talking about I45 on the SE side, it's not far at all to Clear Lake. Clear Lake and League City are about a 10-15 minute drive to I45 and the beltway (the tollway) when there is no traffic. It takes me about 30 minutes to drive from Clear Lake to downtown Houston with light traffic. So the best choices considering neighborhoods, schools, and relative crime rates are Clear Lake/League City, Pearland, and Friendswood.

Thanks for the reply, Pearland sounds good, it's a bit farther from the coast which is a good thing because I'm tired of running away from hurricane

If I were to lived in Sugarland area and have to drive to work to Southeast Houston near I-45 and Sam Houston Tollway, how long would that take me to get to work if I have to be at work at 7?

Clear Lake, Pearland or Friednswood would be your best option. Commute from Sugarland to 1-45 & Sam Houston Tollway area would be 40-45 minutes, that is if you leave by 6:00.

Look in East Pearland, like the area off of Pearland Parkway.

You'll be working off B8 and 45 and heard Clear Lake is to far? The people who told you this, do they use a horse and buggy for travel?

I would go with Clear Lake or the areas of Pearland located off of Dixie Farm Road/518 or Pearland Parkway to ensure a short, easy commute.

This should be a really easy decision for you. Go with Clear Lake. Great community and it's also close to where you work.
