We just need to get a good comparison from one city to another. My good friends lived in Plano and heard so much good things such as schooling, housing, crime rate, shopping center and other things. So please give us your inputs and advises!!

I'd say Sugar Land. And The Woodlands, except that the latter is not actually a city (yet.)

There are additional suburbs of Houston that are nice with those qualities, but they're mostly unincorporated areas and/or bedroom communities, unlike Plano.

What specifically makes Plano the "best suburb in Dallas"?

Demographically speaking Plano's Houston-area peer is about the same as you would get if you combined Sugar Land and Missouri City.

I think It would be Sugar Land then The Woodlands. TW's rapid growth economically is astounding. I think when it becomes a city TW will outpace Sugar Land. The Census already classifies it as an Urban Area with Conroe, won't be long until it interacts more with Spring too. The area is rapidly advancing

Sugar Land is an excellent option. I think it has to be the best suburb in Houston. The Woodlands is a close runner up (although The Woodlands is technically not a city, it is just an unincorporated area of southern Montgomery County).

From the above that you listed, Cypress could easily fit into all of those categories. Most of the Cypress area is unincorporated northwestern Harris County.

No it's not. Best suburb in Dallas is Duncanville, hands down.

Houston doesn't have a best suburb. They are pretty much all the same. Kingwood, The Woodlands, Cypress, Katy, Sugar Land, and Pearland are all the same. If you like suburban living than you'd probably like any of the above mentioned suburbs. Of course this thread is just going to fill up with people naming their suburb and listing off meaningless differences that they think make their suburb better.

The Woodlands wont become a city. Probably a township, though. Taxes will go up 70% if The Woodlands becomes its own city and has to provide its own city services.
