some bog shots of those hospitals ( that are not-for-profit, do not misunderstand that as charity) wanted their Porsche to slide in to their hospital's parking lot from the new proposed tollway

Tollway = Scam

Same bs everytime,
wait until traffic is really bad and then come up with a "Great idea" = Privatize public services.

I'm fine with tollroads,
as long as that company buys the land for the road, build the roads, bridges, etc. for that road, builds the entrance/exit ramps for that road ..... with ZERO tax dollars.

All the rich people in West U and South hampton and the rice area are NOT going to let that happen, beside I thought that's what the city's little choo choo train was for.

If Almeda/521 was a toll road from like Pearland - Highway 6 area to 610 I could agree with it, but not inside the loop.

The toll road is not really a bad idea (though not needed). It's the location.

I lived in this area, don't remember seeing demand for any type of new toll road.

Default The area does need a new route...

But I think it should be below ground. How about a tunnel? Maybe this is what Houston needs to start looking at not just there, but elsewhere as well. And please, don't tell me "it floods here", or that the "water table is low" nonsense. Those risks can be mitigated in this day and age, and there are plenty of smaller cities with under water/underground transportation systems, heck, we even have the Baytown/Washburn tunnels that have been around since the 50's.

Ok, how about this. It's freaking expensive to do a tunnel right, especially here. And with all the infrastructure in place above it!??! There's a reason Boston's big dig took so long and was so over budget. Tunnels are a freaking nightmare to construct.

Tax friendly Texas isn't going to shovel cash at a miles long tunnel.

You might as well ask us to put in a subway system.
