If you like fighting I-10 traffic, go to Memorial City Mall, If you like fighting Westheimer traffic go to the Galleria. It's less pain on the Metro, plus the 81, and the 82 go to the Galleria, and run very frequent. Have you considered West Oaks? It's not too crowded.

Whatever you do, just dont go to the Sharpstown Mall unless you are looking to be mugged or killed.

Am I the only one that hates, and I mean HATES, Town City Mall concepts? WTF? Nowhere to park, walk around in the heat.. We live 2 miles from Town City in Pearland and I've been there like 4 times, 3 times with my kids.

I agree, the Houston climate isnt very friendly most of the year, the last thing I want to do while shopping is sweating my butt off..

It cant help their sales any, as soon as I start to sweat it is time to leave, and in Houston that is about 5 minutes.

It's my understanding that those places were not built for you to "walk around" in the heat during the day. They were made to attract visitors in the evening hoping they would not just shop, but also dine and drink. It's called sales taxes. And those "sales taxes" help offset your "property taxes". You know, the other thing Houstonians love to complain about. They also create these "town centers" to try to draw in outsiders who come to visit and then maybe, perhaps, take a look around at the local housing stock and, I don't know, maybe buy a home or something.

You know there ARE economic reasons why people do the things that they do. They don't call them "master planned" communities for nothing you know.

I've bet you never been to Sharsptown?? They don't even call it that anymore. But im not saying it's paradise but I've been to Sharpstown and Greenspoint mall both on the regular. Just because their the ghetto malls doesn't mean you're in for a mugging or killing.

What is there at Sharpstown now - and I forgot, what is it called? I used to like the old Westwood Mall that closed long, long ago - that was a nice mall, not sure why it never made it.

I think it has a Hispanic theme now. I think it's called Plaza Ameria or something like that.
