Before yall jump down my throat I have noticed that Houston has less stores like the Gap, Old Navy, etc. compared to Dallas and Atlanta. I have noticed this from sources when I post in the development thread. Why does Houston seem to lag

Seems to be on every mall we have and a bunch of strip centers too. I don't know how many other cities have but that's more than enough for me.

Dallas was the wholesale market for clothing and furniture for years. Mom and Pop retail in every small town from El Paso to Little Rock to NOLA went to market in Dallas. They also had some manufacturing based in Dallas. Stanley Marcus helped.

Consequently, people in Dallas have always had a keen interest in fashion.

I am so not concerned about lacking in the volume of Gaps and Old Navys.

The Gap & Old Navy were in financial crisis last I heard. Many stores closed down.

Who would want a bunch of those empty stores in their malls?

Neither one of those are "fashion forward" places to shop anyways.

Like Houston doesn't already have tons of places to shop and eat already. I don't think anyone in Houston is suffering from a lack of options.

I would dispute the premise of your question.

Do you have any objective measurements or hard numbers to show that Houston is underserved on retail compared to DFW? Your subjective feelings are, well, subjective.

I don't know if underserved is the term he's looking for but Dallas and Atlanta do seem more likely to attract major national retailers/restaurants/hotels before Houston.
