Rockets is not stupid like the Magic, who let Shaq walk to the Lakers. Bynum wants to stay as Lakers, I believe he threaten the Magic over by not signing a long-term contract, if Magic offered, so that he can stay as Lakers and I don't believe he wants to come to Houston. Which is why, we are in the driver's seat because the Magic have said they can't let the circus go on before the training camp and Dwight has said recently he will not remain in Orlando beyond this season. The top 5 player is Dwight, and the number 1 pick the past 2 years have been Wall and Irving, both teams are still terrible. Bobcats were so bad, they got rewarded #2 pick, not a bonified #2 pick. If we have a chance to get Howard, or Bynum, you try to get them. Rockets have dealt with immaturity to their best, remember we had Vernon Maxwell and Ron Artest? If we can't sign Howard, or Bynum, we can trade one of them again. Rockets have treated their star players with class, the same can't be said of how the Magic lost Shaq and how the Magic strongly defended Stan Van Gundy then cleaned house except Howard. We are better than the Magic!!!

I can only assume you don't understand what "petulant child" means. Lebron James made a decision to leave Cleveland after his contract expired and he went to Miami. We might not like it, the "Decision" may have been over the top. Be that as it may, he has never been anything less than a consummate pro. He never tried to get his coach fired. He never demanded trades, he never threw his toys out of the pram, he never pouted on the court, he never had periods of inconsistency in his play, he has never not been serious about basketball, he has never done stupid things earning suspensions, etc. He has always just gotten on with playing basketball. Dwayne Wade is also a consummate pro. When has he ever acted like a child and been an all around arsehole (and complaining to the refs does not count). Chris Bosh?

Saying that Miami is built around a petulant child is pretty silly.

Detroit? Same thing. I'm from Chicago, I despised the way they played. It was a nasty style of play. Who was the petulant child they built around, though? Isaiah Thomas refusing to shake Michael Jordan's hand was an isolated incident. Apart from that, not sure it would be fair to say the Pistons were built around Thomas. That was a fairly deep team with a lot of quality: Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman (before he became a petulant child), Bill Laimbeer, James Edwards, Vinnie Johnson, etc.

So again, not the same thing. Having flaws (Michael Jordan, for example, had plenty) is different from being an unreliable petulant child.

Bynum put Houston on the list of teams he would like to go to. Do the three way deal.

I take it you have no concerns that he can't play a full season and as only had one really standout season which coincided with a period where he was under Kareem's tutelage?

Since 2007, the highest number of games the guy has played in during a season is 65. He held up pretty well last season, only missing games in the early part of the season. Still, chronic knee problems in a big man who is only 24 years old (but has 7 seasons wear and tear) scares the hell out of me. The odds of his knee problems getting better are pretty slim, although he is going through some interesting therapy treatments: Bynum believes in his knees, now and later | segundo, believes, bynum - The Orange County Register

They just waived Scola. They are going for broke in being bad this year. Losing Luis makes me sick. It is going to be hard to be a Rockets fan this year. I hope he goes to a team that is a piece or two from being a contender. He is an excellent role player and a hard worker who will do all the little things.

I think it is more like they are banking on getting the Howard deal done. They have to take a lot of bad contracts in the process (Richardson, Davis, Duhon) so had to use their Amnesty cut on Scola's contract.

If the Howard deal doesn't happen, it definitely makes them worse.

If this trade goes through, I guess it makes the Rockets immediately a playoff team given it looks right now like they are basically swapping everything that is left on the Rockets for most of the Magic squad. Orlando made the playoffs last year, therefore....

The Three-Team Deal may send D.H. to the Lakers.
