Guess this criminal won't be robbing anyone else any time soon. The audio says he is paralyzed after being shot in the back.

Unfortunate for everyone. At 25, you'd think he'd know the possible consequences of armed robbery... guess he learned the hard way. He may not be robbing anymore convenience stores, but he will be collecting disability and medical insurance from the tax payers for the rest of his life.

Can you collect disability on an injury incurred during a felony?

I think you're right chery. Quick google search indicates an injury while commiting a felony makes one ineligible for disability benefits.

...as it should be - good. I wouldn't wish this on anyone (bad Karma) but he produced his own Karma. However, I am very glad the clerk doesn't have to live with a death on his hands - he certainly didn't deserve that memory.

You know, it still makes me sad to hear stories like this. There are too any broken people in our society. It's a vicious cycle that many can't break. Of course I'm happy for the clerks, but wish none of this had happened in the first place.

In a city with such a large rich-poor gap where guns are readily available, these things happen.
