I'm just surprised that they picked that spot for the largest one. I would think between Houston & Dallas or Houston & Houston would have been a better spot. They have the one in Centerville - seems like that would have more traffic and have been a better location to have put the "largest" one.

I guess most people disagree with Bucee's being way overpriced. The chain is spreading like a virus. It probably wont be long before they cover the south.

I'm still wondering how big this one will be. I read the other day that the one in New Braunfels is 67,000 square feet. Texas City offered them the 1/3 tax revenue back if they built one over 60,000 but I haven't heard particulars yet on what the actual size will be. I'm guessing it will have to be bigger than the one in New Braunfels.

People don't realize the shear amount of traffic that flows between Houston and Galveston with those from the city and those outside of it. I guess people think there is more traffic on i10 west to San Antonio or 45 to Dallas but forget both of those are two-lane highways while all the way to Galveston is at least three. This would obviously make the freeways seem less crowded.

Another reason I think it will thrive is because there isn't crap for gas stations after you pass 517 and the ones that are there are small. I know when I leave my house and jump on 45 I always get gas, food, ice, etc. in my area because the ones on the way are rundown and not well stocked. There's is only one gas station with a lot big enough to pull a boat through and the size that Bucee's is talking about will be music to many boaters ears.

I love stopping at that Bucees, too. I find the drive between Houston and Dallas almost as boring as the drive between Pensacola and Tallahassee. I look forward to the Bucees for an excuse to stretch my legs and get some fudge.

Stopped there just once, you're right -everything overpriced, obnoxious loud and bus loads of people. Don't care about them, don't need to stop on my trip between San Antonio and Houston. However, their restrooms are big, plenty and super clean.....

Can you imagine how much shrink that TX-LA border store would have though? Not good for business, probably why you'll never see one there.

Otherwise it looks like these guys know their locations well. That new place is not only going to be the worlds largest but also have the highest revenue out of all of their stores. Kudos to Buccees.

Yeah that should have read Houston & Austin. There is one in Luling but Hwy 71 would be nice.

I remember going to a holiday party a couple of years ago and one of the women attending was wearing a belt that all the others were admiring and commenting on -- she finally conceded - "I bought it at Bucees"
