Annise Parker has my vote for as long as she's alive.
Coming from the Midwest, I've been complaining about this ..... forever
How is it possibly that rural Northern Arkansas, in an area with a hand full of little towns has much better roads than Houston?
In case that you are wondering, I'm talking specifically about highway 63 North of Cherokee Village and highway 65 North of Harrison, AR

Quote:
“The greater Houston metropolitan area has a greater GDP than the entire state of Georgia,” Parker said in an interview with Texas on the Potomac. “The top ten city metro areas in the United States have a greater GDP than 35 states added together. I shouldn’t have to compete with rural areas in some other part of the country for desperately needed transit dollars, for example, since I represent such a large piece of the population. And my fellow mayors would say the same thing.”

Your mayor seems like a good mayor. She seems to believe in progression (from reading the article).
