Hopefully the I-45 tunnels (if built) will be to hold during floods.

It's a weak argument to use the flew floods that Houston may get in x amount of years is going to stop companies from moving there.
Agree!!! It is a very weak argument because DFW gets snow, ice and hail a lot more than we do. We may get a little more flood, but it should not deter companies from locating here. A case in point is me, so far at my job in 8 years+ in downtown, I only missed 2 days from Hurricane Ike and I even made it to work when we had that severe ice problems a year, or two ago. I haven't missed any days since except vacation days which isn't many because I like working

As for expansion on 45 North, I'm all for elevated type Pierce freeways because tunnels has a lot of potential problems from emergencies, broken down cars and use of phone. It isn't like beautifying is important around that area before Beltway 8 since I haven't seen any work done on 45 North except rebuilding bridges, or repaving roads nothing like making it look nicer.

45 is already elevated in tons of areas, what is the point?
And good luck trying to make any major changes to it above ground

Yes, tunnels are great,
you know what's even better.... an elevated highway, that's why you see them everywhere.
Oh, so that explains why at-grade rail is everywhere too right?? It's better. Nothing to do with cost or money.

The city is cheap and does everything cheap. They scare the city of Houston into believing these things can't happen and we end up with crap. Don't believe the hype.

You have never seen Trains in tunnels.

You are kidding me right? They moved April Fools to July right?

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????

you barely see trains elevated but all the miles and miles of trains in tunnels in NY, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, DC, Toronto, San Francisco, Everywhere in Europe, Tons of Asian Cities, etc

You must be kidding be. I have seen 0.0001% of trains elevated while the bulk of city trains that I have seen have been in tunnels.

Only elevated trains I have been on have been in Seattle and Disney World. All the rest have been in tunnels or at grade.
