I'm from Dallas and when people come down to visit I always hear "Clubs close at 2a.m.?" or "The liqour store is closed on Sundays." I believe during the Superbowl that was one of the complaints as well. Is it time to change those laws?

Guess I'm too old to care... I'm in bed by 10:00 most nights! Sad thing is, I'm not even 30!

I just think it's time to repeal laws that were passed back in 1891.

I just think is funny that the areas with the most blue laws are the ones that claim to be against "Big government trying to tell us how to do our things"
Just typical political hypocrisy,
they are against something when it affects, when it doesn't affect them, they support it.

I think they should stay the same.

Most people that would like to change them are between the ages of 18-26 or so. By the time you pass that age your thoughts of changing the blue laws start to decrease. We are both very large commuter cities and if we were to change them the later you push the closing times the better chance you have of drunk drivers intermingling with the morning commuters.

Harris County is already the worst county in the country for drunk drivers.

Texas leads the nation in drunk driving related deaths so that is a straw man argument. Texas is so hypocritical it's not funny. The TABC is one of the largest bureaucracies in the country but Texans cry about governmental intrusion. And BTW I'm 36 but would like to see Dallas grow it's tourism as well as Houston.

Huh? I guess there are no successful people in NYC or New Orleans. I don't get that line of thinking.

Well if I had to bet I am sure I would put my money on California or Texas to take that title given how large their populations are.

I agree that we need to increase tourism to a certain point but if extending the amount of drinking time is the only thing we can come up with then we are in trouble.
