The point is to get there fast. A few stations in Houston a few stations in Galveston and that's it. Maybe one station at Nasa Rd.
Then you are taking about a commuter line.

Anyway how does that make downtown Houston more active?
How does that generate tax dollars for the city?

Yall should be banned for mentioning galveston in this thread. The option is improve downtiwn or build a theme park. That's it
The option is to build a district within the loop or a suburban theme park. Untangle your panties.

Regardless of the options, you'll never see a casino built in the core of Houston. Most (not all) states that allow gambling either do it on Indian reservations or on water (hence Galveston, Kemah, Baycliff are suggested). Other than that, you might find them starting out as slots only gambling at dog or horse tracks - which would be a boost to the Dog Park in Texas City or the Sam Houston Race park on the NW side and would be really something to strive for as that may actually be attainable in the short time. And although not in the core of Houston would be a boost for Houston entertainment options. Houstonians flock to Louisiana to gamble - may as well keep that revenue in the state of Texas to benefit our state's revenue.

1. Never Say never

2. And we are talking about Entertainment districts with casinos as a feature.

3. This is Houston. We put whatever we want where ever we want

Basically. Houston has little trouble razing buildings. I could easily see this built on the east side of town. The people asked for it and this is what we've got. And even your money can't save you in a town like Houston. See Ashby highrise.

Houston can't put whatever they want, where they want in terms of gambling. That is going to take legislative approval - baby steps first.

You know what i meant. You said if they got casinos it would be near water, i says we would put it where ever we want.

And for the zillionth time the option is for an entire district.

You know hire there is the skylibe district, the theater district, museum district, conventiob district, omg i cant believe i am explaining this forty times to adults district.

I'd rather a theme park. But it has to be a serious one. I'm talking Disney level. Otherwise why not just go to San Antonio?
