So what's it realistically like year round in Houston area?

weather is not unbearable....its warm pretty much year round...a few cold spells in the winter but just temporary..cold weather never lasts here long...humidity is not an issue if you have lived in coastal regions...i have been to florida and its just as humid in the coastal areas, if not worst. the reality of the matter is that places close to water are always humid, unless you live in desert proned area like california.
you will experience 60 and 70 degree days in the winter time here as well as 40s and 30s at night. no matter how the weather is...people will still complain.....you cant satisfy everyone.

This past June was better than last year, sure, but we were still above average, while the rain total was below average. In June we recorded the highest temp of the season, but we did have about a week of "mild" temps.

OK good, I knew it! I just wanted to see for myself. I got a lot of "heat", pun intended, on talking about weather in Houston when I didn't live here. Well, I'm in the Woodlands now and I LOVE this weather. It's gorgeous. Especially in the morning and evening. If today is what you guys call an inferno, then my original hunch was right. Most of you guys must be from the north and simply can't handle heat. To me this weather is the best reason to move down here!!!!

I should add that I'm a healthy guy and I work out so I love to sweat. If that matters...

I was born and raised right here in Houston, and this weather does suck. I simply wouldn't describe it as unbearable, though.
