I met a few people in the industry this weekend and they have me thinking about this as a career. I'm reaching out to the fine folks on this forum to see if there are any commercial brokers out there that could opine on the subject of making commercial real estate brokerage a career.

To give a bit of background- I am 24 years old, graduated with a bachelors degree in finance/Econ with a concentration in real estate. I work for a financial services firm in a finance/construction capacity. I don't dislike my work but I feel as though the pace is a bit slow and I have concerns about my success being less correlated to my efforts than I'd like it to be. I've always enjoyed customer service and I take a lot of pride in working long and hard days as I know that is essential for any type of success in this field.

I've been thinking about this path but I have concerns with getting started in the industry in terms of earning a comfortable salary to a commission-only environment. I'd be really interested in hearing from anyone with actual experience in the field as to some I the highs and lows and what makes you love it or hate it. If you are more comfortable with a PM or phone call rather than posting publicly that's great as I really do appreciate any candid feedback.

Thanks in advance everyone!
