Just got a red light ticket. Dude asked for my business address (address of the company I work for).
Is this information mandatory? or could I have said "I do not wanna give out that information" ?

You should have said "thanks for the ticket, maybe now I'll learn how to drive".

Bily is correct. You are not required to disclose that information during a traffic stop. Some cops will ask all sorts of random questions -- they can legally ask, but you are not legally required to answer.

First off, cops are not pigs. I hope you never have a job that comes with as much stress as they encounter in a single shift. Second, be thankful for what they do helps keep our crime rate under control in this city. Third, why are you breaking the law in the first place?? If you are going to purposely run red lights (which is stupid in the first place) or speed then you best bet on at some point getting a ticket. I just love how people get so frustrated knowing they were in the wrong but when getting punished try to rationalize that worse crime is going on right then and there and they should be let go absolutely free...

You do realize that if you follow the rules at all times you NEVER EVER EVER have to worry about a cop EVER harassing you! Keep your car insured, tags renewed and follow the laws on the road and *POOF* no problems from the police!

"Pigs"...really?? Grow up, hopefully next time you'll get a ticket for being an immature *sshole.

Here's a little education, the police ask you easy questions like this to gauge your response. 99% of us pass, the rest are the real 'pigs' of society who need to be eradicated.

For those of you who might be reading this post and are not sure of the meaning of the acronym "PIG" when it refers to a Law Enforcement Officer the true meaning of "PIG" is:

PRIDE

INTEGRITY

GUTS

Good LEO in this country demonstrate all of these characteristics and more! Regardless of which type of LEO you encounter there is no benefit to acting with or harboring ill thoughts of this group that places their lives on the line daily for our protection. LEO are free to ask you any question they deem necessary for the situation at hand. You are obviously free not to answer and they will let you know when an answer IS required for a particular question.

In other words tailgating so close you can't see the traffic light, technically breaking the law twice?
