Since it's forecasted to be 80/60 all weekend I'd suggest wearing shorts. Looks like you'll need something warm from Monday on if you stay that long.

I am on the way to H-town! We are on the Alabama-Mississippi line.

Remember what we told you. Get away from the freeways to really see Houston.

We are passing through Chambers County and it reminds me so much of coastal Alabama

Ok. We made it. The area does look dirty but it is what I expected. The traffic is horrible. The drivers drive like bats out of hell. Downtown skyline is not big like I had seen on pictures. DT is packed! I see many different people. I thought Houston was going to be overrun by Mexicans but it is not. So far so good. Better than Atlanta.

Welcome to Texas!

If you somehow find yourself with lots of free time - drive down south beltway 8 where it crosses highway 288 (or get someone else to drive and you look) and look towards downtown. Then you will be able to see downtown, uptown, and the medical center skylines all at once. There may be better vantage points, but that is the best one I know.

Coming into the city from the East side makes it look a bit dirtier with all the industry there. Where are you staying?
