Blinking turn arrows, allowing you to turn if traffic is clear, seems effective in other states. Ever considered here?

The TEXDOT Clowns just installed 2 of them on SH6 in Copperfield. Nothing can help that nightmare of a road though. Nothing.

League City has installed them at a bunch of intersections. I think they are great. Cities in the DFW area are installing them too.

Assume they are including signs explaining, given they are not common? I have to say, on high speed/volume roads I have seen people make risky turns...

Missouri City, Sugar Land and parts of the city of Houston have the blinking yellow turn arrows now.

I'll take the "no arrow" option and just have a green light.
That would make everybody's life much better.

I do believe they have signs explaining them. If I am not mistaken I have seen the signs on the lights on Highway 6.

All the ones in League City have a sign next to them that says left turn yield on flashing yellow arrow.

Doesn't a green light serve the same function? You can turn if its safe?

Around here (Montreal) if you have a blinking left turn arrow it means you have the right of way to make that left turn and oncoming traffic has a red light until the arrow stops flashing.
